Rainboot Garden

Hi friends, how are you today?  I hope well.

Today I’m sharing my cute new Rainboot Garden with you.

We have a large back yard and it still needs lots of love (lots of work…lol).  There is a long fence and in a perfect world I will have loads of pretty flowers and trees but for now I am adding color and flowers slowly …….on a budget.

I had seen a couple of these cute Rainboot Garden’s on Pinterest a while back and thought “I want to do that too.”  So as I have been out thrift shopping I picked up some cute kids Rain boots.  I found them for $2-$5 each so it didn’t cost me that much.

Remember I painted our Plastic Chairs a couple weeks ago?  You can see the arrow showing where I added the Rainboot Garden.

Here’s  what I was working with. I have some more empty fence space down by the pool and I think it would be so fun to do that pallet garden too.

I cleaned the boots and let them dry.

I went to Home Depot and bought some flowers and they were $1.29 each and I bought 8 .  I just planted them in the boots.  I nailed 8 nails in the fence and I tied some twin around the backs of the tops of the boots so I could just hang the boots and if I want to change them or move them somewhere else I can easily.

Voila!!  Rainboot Garden!  I LOVE it. It’s fun and whimsical and very bright.  Just what I wanted on that drab colorless fence.

If you want to see how I added color to my backyard last year take a look here, and if you want to see how I painted $1 pots to add more color.

I’m linking up today to Southern Hospitality, From My Front Porch To Yours &  My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia , Katherines Corner, Over 50 Feeling 40 and Vintage Mama today.  Please go on over and check out their blogs and all the great projects, summer ideas and recipes today.

So cute! Love these boots. Just what I would love to do too, but here where I live, in the desert, we have only about 2 inches of rain a year so I don’t think I would be as lucky as you to find boots in the thrift store!

Hmmm wonder if I could find thrifted cowboy boots and spray paint them…..

Love the bright colors! I have currently some small rain boots on my porch that I need to add some small flowers to….I got them at the local Goodwill store. What a great idea to spruce up the bare spots on your fence!! I’m stopping over from the “Treasure Hunt Thursday” Link-up. I really like your blog and am following you now…feel free to stop on over and check out my blog, too. (It’s called “Cairn Cottage”…kinda similar names, huh! :)
