New Mantel with Old Windows

I’ve been working on a few projects and one of them is a new look to our Mantel.

Before the holidays I found these old windows at a yard sale for $2.00 each and knew they would be fun to decorate with.   Right now we’re going for something in the spirit of Valentine’s Day and Love.

These were the windows cleaned up and on the bare wall.

It’s not quite done but I wanted to share what I’m working on so far.

Last year I made a Gallery Wall with wedding photo’s and some great thrift store mirrors.  If you want to see how I did that click here.   I pulled this down and think I’m gonna move this upstairs to the wall in our hallway.

I picked up the pretty pink roses at our Von’s when I got groceries yesterday.

The Love is all you Need sign is something I LOVE and has a little special meaning to me.

When my hubs proposed to me, we were in Vegas and he took me out to dinner for my Birthday and asked me to marry him.  Then he took me to see “LOVE” the Circue du Soleil show set to the Beattles Music and of course they played “All you need is Love.”   Ahhhhh.

I put the picture of the windows up on the Facebook Page and got lots of great ideas so I’m gonna play with some of them too.

Here it is now with the Valentine’s LOVE Banner I just added to it too.

If you have any ideas for the mantel, please send them my way.

Love the old windows, $2 each, lucky you. What would we do without old wood windows? I had to leave a bunch of them when we moved from KY and it killed me, loved those darn old windows. I got them at a window place in Bowling Green, KY across from clinic I went to. One day I finally went over and asked somebody if I could have windows, no problem take as many as i wanted. Oh my. I had a 12 paned, 3ft. by 3ft. window I used in our living room, what fun I had with that window. Hubs had to build a frame on wall to hang it due to weight. Had to leave it also, dadgumit. Love your old windows. I’ll have to find a source here in Grand Junction, CO. where we live now. Gotta have me some old wood windows. Your mantel looks great with windows, so much we can do with them to decorate. Don’t ya love em?

hi oh know you had to leave them. I know how you felt I had two big white old ones that I had to leave when I went through a divorce and it hurt too. There are always more around the corner…lol. Look at yard sales and at the side of the road too…lol. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day, Lisa
